At KidsTeachKids our goal is to change the way tutoring is structured. We launched with the idea to make tutoring engaging through the use of near-peer tutors. We match our students with tutors 3-5 years older. The reason we decided to go with the near-peer tutoring system is because we noticed a disconnect in interest when tutors had a big age gap with their students. We realised that in learning confidence comes before performance, sometimes a child can feel a disconnect with their tutor, and due to that they can feel embarassed to ask questions; this disconnect oftentimes leaves students leaving sessions more confused than they began them. At KidsTeachKids' we made it our mission to have parents understand that the reason a child may be underperforming in class isn't because of ability but due to confidence and an overall disconnect, and we want to help children prevail!
